Berkshire is long and narrow, and the two ends feel like different places. In the east, the Thames loops past Windsor and Maidenhead, the M4 and the Elizabeth line tie everything to London and Heathrow, and business parks sit between commuter towns and royal parkland. Head west past Reading and the county softens into the Kennet valley, the chalk of the North Wessex Downs and a string of market towns and racing villages. We cater at both ends and everywhere in between.
What we bring doesn't change with the postcode. The pig or lamb is roasted on site, carved to order in front of your guests, and served with salads, breads, stuffing, sauces and potatoes. Our hog roast catering is the centrepiece for most bookings, while a BBQ suits plenty of Berkshire events on its own or running alongside the roast.

We cater all over Berkshire, from the Thames at Windsor to the Wiltshire border beyond Hungerford. These are the towns we're asked about most — each page has local notes, venue types and nearby areas.

The eastern half is where most of the county's people and employers are. Slough has its vast trading estate, Bracknell grew up as a post-war new town with business parks on its fringes, and Maidenhead and Windsor share the Thames and a steady diet of riverside parties, weddings and tourist-season crowds. Around Ascot and Sandhurst, pine and heathland take over, with large gardens and quiet roads between the racecourse and the Surrey border.
Reading sits where the Kennet meets the Thames and acts as the county's commercial centre, with offices in the town and business parks by the motorway. Wokingham keeps its market-town core while new neighbourhoods fill the land around it. Further west, Newbury and Hungerford follow the Kennet and Avon Canal towards Wiltshire, and the downland around them is farm, shoot and racehorse country — ideal for marquee weddings and parties on private land.
Berkshire no longer has a county council; it's run by six unitary authorities, from West Berkshire to Slough. That makes little difference to a hog roast, but it does mean rules on things like events in public parks vary from one council to the next, so it's worth checking early if your party is on council-owned land.
A whole pig with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce is the classic; a spit-roast lamb suits pork-free guests and summer weddings; and a BBQ gives everyone a choice. Many Berkshire events combine two. See our our hog roast service and a whole lamb roast pages for how each is cooked and served.

See the menuBBQ menus earn their place at the many Berkshire events where speed and choice matter: business-park lunches with a fixed break, school summer fairs, cricket and rowing club socials, and family parties with lots of children. Burgers, sausages, chicken, halloumi and plant-based options come with salads and fries, all cooked on site.
It pairs well with a roast, too — a hog roast counter and a BBQ side by side is a common set-up for larger Thames Valley staff days. The BBQ catering page explains how it works, and the BBQ menu lists sample packages.

Couples in Berkshire have a wide choice of settings: barns and marquees on the Downs above Newbury and Hungerford, riverside gardens along the Thames between Reading and Windsor, and country-house lawns in the wooded corner around Ascot. A hog roast fits all of them, either as the main wedding breakfast — carved pork or lamb with salads and new potatoes — or as evening food, when crackling rolls and apple sauce are exactly what the dance floor wants.
Many Berkshire weddings pair a whole pig with a lamb so guests have a proper choice, and we cook and serve vegetarian and vegan mains separately. Our wedding hog roast page covers how the day runs, and the wedding guide helps with timings and quantities.
Wedding hog roasts in BerkshireThe M4 corridor gives Berkshire one of the densest concentrations of offices and business parks outside London. Technology, pharmaceutical, logistics and professional-services firms around Reading, Bracknell, Slough and Maidenhead hold summer parties, family days, client events and Christmas lunches, and a hog roast or BBQ served outdoors is one of the easiest ways to feed a big team at once.
Work events here tend to come with facilities managers, site inductions and paperwork, which we're used to. We agree a service window, plan separate serving for vegetarian and vegan dishes, label everything and send the documents your team asks for. See corporate catering and our guide to planning a corporate BBQ.
Corporate hog roast & BBQ cateringA lot of our Berkshire diary is private: milestone birthdays in Ascot and Sunningdale gardens, anniversaries by the river in Wargrave or Cookham, christenings and summer parties on the newer estates around Wokingham, and family get-togethers on farms west of Newbury. Where there's room for the machine and a serving gazebo, a hog roast turns a garden into a venue without any fuss.
Smaller plots and townhouse gardens in Reading, Windsor or Maidenhead can still work — a BBQ set-up is more compact, and we can sometimes cook on a drive and serve at the back. Take a look at birthday party catering and private party catering for ideas.

Roughly 120 day guests with more arriving for the evening. A whole pig and a lamb for the wedding breakfast with four salads and new potatoes, then crackling rolls from the same roast after the speeches. The field sat at the end of a chalk track, so we agreed a firm parking spot by the barn and carried the last stretch.
Several hundred staff served over a long lunch window. A hog roast counter and a BBQ ran side by side on the car park edge, with vegan and vegetarian dishes cooked and served from their own station and every dish labelled. Paperwork went to the site's facilities team the week before.
Around 90 guests on a lawn edged with pines. The roast was set up on the gravel turning circle, the serving counter went under a gazebo near the terrace, and everything was packed away before the end of the night.
Every menu comes with the salads, sides, breads and sauces that turn a roast into a proper meal — homemade coleslaw, leaf and tomato salads, potato salad, fries or sweet potato fries, and new potatoes in cooler months. Our guide to hog roast side dishes has ideas.
Vegetarian and vegan mains are cooked separately on request and clearly labelled, and allergen information is available for every dish. Read our allergen and dietary information before booking if any guests have allergies.
We cover the whole of Berkshire, from Slough and Windsor in the east to Hungerford and the Lambourn valley in the west. When you enquire, send the postcode, where a van and trailer can park and how far that is from the serving area. For Downs venues, mention tracks, gates and ground that gets soft in wet weather.
Race days at Ascot and Newbury and busy summer weekends in Windsor can clog local roads, so tell us if your date clashes and we'll plan an earlier arrival. Country venues and corporate sites often have supplier rules or ask for risk assessments and insurance documents — send us the details and we'll confirm what we can meet before you book.
Send the date, postcode, rough guest numbers and the kind of food you have in mind. A few lines is plenty to start.
We'll suggest a menu, service style and timings that suit the event, and send a clear written quote. Tweak it as much as you like.
Final numbers, dietary requirements, access, parking and timings are agreed in writing ahead of the day, so there are no surprises.
We arrive early, cook everything fresh on site, serve your guests from our counter, and leave the space clean and tidy.
All of it — Reading and Wokingham, the Thames towns of Maidenhead and Windsor, Slough, Bracknell, Ascot and Sandhurst in the east, and Newbury, Thatcham and Hungerford in the west, plus the villages in between. Send us your postcode and we'll confirm.
Yes. Some downland venues sit up chalk tracks or across fields, so we'll ask about the route in, where we can park on firm ground and how far we'll carry equipment. With that planned, rural sites are straightforward.
For large headcounts we usually run a hog roast and a BBQ from separate serving points, so queues stay short and there's plenty of choice for dietary needs. Our corporate catering page has more detail.
They can. Roads around both racecourses get busy on meeting days. If your event falls on one, let us know and we'll allow extra travel time and arrive earlier.
It depends on guest numbers, menu, staffing and the site, so we don't publish a fixed price. Our guide to hog roast costs explains what affects the quote, and quotes are free.
Send the date, postcode and rough guest numbers — we'll reply with menu ideas and a clear quote.
