Hampshire is a big county with a lot of different places in it. The north-east corner around the M3 is packed with offices and business parks; the middle is chalk downland, river valleys and market towns; the south is a working coast of ports, harbours and naval towns; and the south-west is the New Forest. A hog roast fits into all of them, which is exactly why it's such a popular choice here.
However the day is shaped, the service is the same. We arrive early, get the pig or lamb cooking, set up a proper serving counter and carve to order, with salads, potatoes, breads and sauces alongside. Afterwards we clear down and leave the site tidy. Many Hampshire events also add a BBQ menu or swap the pork for a whole lamb roast, and we're happy to mix and match.

We cater right across Hampshire. These are the towns and areas we're asked about most, each with local notes, venue types and nearby places we also cover.

In the north of the county, Farnborough, Aldershot, Fleet and Basingstoke give us a steady run of staff parties, client days and family celebrations, with Army, aerospace and technology connections that go back generations. Further west and south, Andover, Alton and Winchester bring farm weddings, village fetes and big private parties in the valleys of the Test and the Itchen, while Petersfield sits inside the South Downs National Park.
On the coast, Southampton and Portsmouth are cities in their own right, each with a university, a working waterfront and a lot of dense housing where access needs thought. Around them, Fareham, Gosport, Havant and Eastleigh are full of family homes, sports clubs and business parks. Out west, Lymington, Ringwood and the New Forest are all about gardens, farms and marquees on private land.
A whole pig with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce is the classic; a spit-roast lamb suits pork-free guests and summer weddings; and a BBQ gives everyone a choice. Many Hampshire events combine two. See our hog roast catering service and lamb roast catering pages for how each is cooked and served.

See the menuA BBQ suits Hampshire sports clubs, school events, sailing and rowing club days and office lunches where people want a choice: burgers, sausages, chicken, halloumi and plant-based options, with salads and fries. It's also a good fit when the queue needs to move quickly.

Hampshire weddings range from marquees on family farmland in the Test Valley to barn venues on the edge of the South Downs and coastal receptions near the Solent. A hog roast can be the wedding breakfast itself, served buffet-style or brought to the tables, or it can be the evening food that keeps the dance floor going. Plenty of couples use one roast for both.
Rural sites often need a bit of forward planning — access tracks, soft ground after rain, the distance from where we park to where we serve. We go through all of it with you in advance. Our wedding hog roast page covers menus, timings and planning for vegetarian and vegan guests.
Wedding hog roasts in HampshireThe M3 corridor from Farnborough to Basingstoke, the M27 between Southampton and Portsmouth, and the business parks around Eastleigh, Fareham and Havant account for a lot of our Hampshire corporate work. Summer staff parties, family fun days, client BBQs, site openings and Christmas lunches all come up regularly.
What matters on a work event is a fast queue, clear labelling and one point of contact who deals sensibly with site security and facilities. We plan the service around your shift patterns or lunch window and confirm the details in writing. See corporate catering for how we run larger staff events.
Corporate hog roast & BBQ cateringBig birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, retirements and summer garden parties make up a large share of our Hampshire bookings. The roast becomes the centrepiece, guests gather round for the carving, and nobody has to be stuck at the barbecue all afternoon.
Gardens vary hugely across the county, from narrow terraces in Southsea to paddocks in the Meon Valley. Tell us about gates, side access and parking and we'll work out the best set-up. Our private party catering and birthday party catering pages have more ideas.

Around 110 guests in a marquee on family farmland, with a grass track down from the lane. Carved pork and lamb for the wedding breakfast with seasonal salads and new potatoes, then hot pork rolls with crackling and apple sauce for the evening crowd, all from one set-up.
Staff and their families on the lawn outside the office, arriving in waves through the afternoon. A hog roast and a BBQ running from separate counters, with a vegetarian and vegan grill kept apart and every dish labelled.
Fifty guests in a long, narrow back garden with access only through the house. We cooked on the street-side drive, carried the food through to a gazebo counter and kept the kitchen out of the way.
Every menu comes with the salads, sides, breads and sauces that turn a roast into a proper meal — homemade coleslaw, leaf and tomato salads, potato salad, fries or sweet potato fries, and new potatoes in cooler months. Our guide to hog roast side dishes has ideas.
Vegetarian and vegan mains are cooked separately on request and clearly labelled, and allergen information is available for every dish. Read our allergen and dietary information before booking if any guests have allergies.
We cover the whole of Hampshire, including the cities of Southampton and Portsmouth, which run their own local government but are very much part of the county for us. When you enquire, send the postcode, where we could park a van and trailer, and how far that is from the serving area.
Some venues, estates and public land have rules about outside caterers, gas, open flames or generators — and on the open land of the New Forest, fires and barbecues aren't allowed at all. If you know of any restrictions, send them over and we'll check we can work within them before you book.
Send the date, postcode, rough guest numbers and the kind of food you have in mind. A few lines is plenty to start.
We'll suggest a menu, service style and timings that suit the event, and send a clear written quote. Tweak it as much as you like.
Final numbers, dietary requirements, access, parking and timings are agreed in writing ahead of the day, so there are no surprises.
We arrive early, cook everything fresh on site, serve your guests from our counter, and leave the space clean and tidy.
Yes — from Farnborough and Fleet on the Surrey border across to Andover, down through Winchester to Southampton, Portsmouth and Havant, and west to Lymington, Ringwood and the New Forest. Send us the postcode and we'll confirm.
Yes, at private homes, farms, gardens and venues across the forest. Fires and barbecues aren't permitted on the open forest itself, so events there need to be on private land or at a venue that allows outside caterers. We'll talk through the site with you when you get in touch.
For most staff events either works well, and many do both. A hog roast is great for a relaxed afternoon; a BBQ offers more choice and serves a tight lunch window quickly. Our guide to hog roast vs BBQ explains the differences.
It depends on numbers, menu, staffing and location, so we quote each event individually. Our guide to hog roast costs explains what affects the price, and a quote costs nothing.
Send the date, postcode and rough guest numbers — we'll reply with menu ideas and a clear quote.
