Hog roast and BBQ caterers for Surrey

Surrey suits a hog roast. There is space in most gardens, a good number of the county's wedding venues are barns and country houses with lawns built for outdoor catering, and the business parks along the M3 and M25 corridors are full of companies that want a summer party without booking a restaurant for three hundred people.

We bring the whole operation: the roast, the team, the serving counter, the sides and the clearing up. The pig goes on hours before your guests arrive and is carved to order at the counter, so the food is hot and fresh rather than sitting in chafing dishes. If a hog roast isn't quite right for the crowd, a whole lamb roast or a BBQ menu works just as well, and plenty of Surrey events mix the two.

Events across Surrey

The county splits roughly into three kinds of event. In the west and south — around Farnham, Haslemere, Godalming and the Surrey Hills — it's weddings, farm venues and large private parties on land that often needs a bit of planning for access. Along the M3 and A3 towns such as Woking, Camberley and Guildford, we see a lot of office and business-park events. Closer to London — Epsom, Esher, Weybridge — it's more garden parties, school and sports-club events and milestone birthdays.

All three are catered in exactly the same way. What changes is the logistics: how close we can park, how far the counter is from the kitchen door, whether the lawn has a slope, and whether the venue has its own rules about open flames or generators. We ask about all of that when you enquire.

Pork, lamb and BBQ options

A whole pig with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce is the classic; a spit-roast lamb suits pork-free guests and summer weddings; and a BBQ gives everyone a choice. Many Surrey events combine two. See our hog roast catering and lamb roast catering pages for how each is cooked and served.

BBQ catering in Surrey

BBQ catering is often the better fit for Surrey office parties, sports-club events and family gatherings where people want choice: burgers, sausages, chicken, halloumi and plant-based options alongside the salads and fries. It also works well for lunchtime events where a queue has to move quickly.

We can run a BBQ on its own or alongside a hog roast. The BBQ catering page explains the options, and the BBQ menu shows example packages.

Weddings, corporate events and private parties

Weddings

A Surrey wedding hog roast usually lands in one of three slots. Some couples have it as the main meal — carved pork or lamb, a proper spread of salads and potatoes, served buffet-style or brought to the tables. Others keep a formal sit-down meal and bring us in for the evening, when a hot pork roll with crackling is exactly what the dance floor needs. And a growing number book a relaxed BBQ for the day after, especially at venues that host the whole weekend.

Barn and farm venues in the Surrey Hills, marquees on family land and country-house lawns all work well. Read more about how we handle wedding hog roasts, including evening food and dietary planning for mixed guest lists.

Corporate events

Company summer parties, staff appreciation days, client barbecues and office Christmas events make up a large share of our Surrey work. Guildford, Woking, Leatherhead and the Camberley–Frimley area all have big employers with outdoor space or access to a nearby field, sports club or hotel lawn.

For work events the priorities are usually speed of service, a clear dietary plan and someone reliable to deal with the facilities team. We can serve a large queue quickly from a hog roast counter, and we'll confirm all the practical details in writing beforehand. See corporate catering for how we run larger staff events.

Private parties

Milestone birthdays, anniversaries, christenings, garden parties and summer get-togethers are where a hog roast really earns its keep. The machine becomes the centre of the party, guests wander over to watch the carving, and nobody in the family has to spend the evening at the grill.

Most Surrey gardens can take our set-up, but it helps to know about side access, gates and parking before the day. Take a look at birthday party catering and private party catering for ideas on menus and numbers.

Example Surrey events

Illustrative examples of how we plan the catering for different kinds of event.

A barn wedding near the Surrey Hills

Around 120 day guests and 40 more in the evening. Carved pork and slow-roasted lamb for the wedding breakfast with four salads and new potatoes, then fresh pork rolls with apple sauce at 9pm using the same roast. One set-up, two services, and nothing reheated.

A company summer party in Woking

Staff on a business-park lawn, a tight 90-minute lunch window and a mix of dietary needs. BBQ and hog roast from two serving points to keep the queue short, with vegetarian and vegan dishes cooked and served separately and clearly labelled.

A 50th birthday garden party in Epsom

Sixty guests in the back garden, side access only. We set up on the drive, serve from a gazebo counter on the patio and leave the garden as we found it.

Sides and dietary requirements

Every menu comes with the salads, sides, breads and sauces that turn a roast into a proper meal — homemade coleslaw, leaf and tomato salads, potato salad, fries or sweet potato fries, and new potatoes in cooler months. Our guide to choosing your sides has ideas.

Vegetarian and vegan mains are cooked separately on request and clearly labelled, and allergen information is available for every dish. Read our allergen and dietary information before booking if any guests have allergies.

Practical details

We cover the whole of Surrey. When you enquire, it helps to tell us the postcode, where we could park a van and trailer, and roughly how far that is from where you want the food served.

Many Surrey venues have lists of approved caterers or rules about external suppliers, gas and generators. If your venue has requirements, send them over and we'll confirm whether we can meet them before you book.

Hog roast catering in Surrey: FAQs

Do you cover the whole of Surrey?

Yes. We cater across the county, from Farnham and Haslemere in the west to Caterham and Horley in the east, and up to the edge of London at Esher, Epsom and Staines. Tell us the postcode when you enquire and we'll confirm straight away.

Can you cater at a Surrey wedding venue that has its own caterer?

Sometimes. Some venues allow external caterers for evening food or for outdoor areas, others don't. Check with your venue first; we're happy to provide the paperwork they usually ask for, such as insurance details and a food safety summary.

What's the best option for an office summer party in Surrey?

For most work events we recommend either a hog roast with a BBQ running alongside, or a BBQ menu on its own. Both serve a queue quickly and cover a wide range of dietary needs. Our corporate catering page has more detail.

How much does a hog roast cost in Surrey?

It depends on guest numbers, the menu, the number of staff needed and the location. We don't publish a one-size price because two events rarely need the same thing. Our guide to hog roast costs explains what affects the price, and a quote is free.
