Booking and quotes
How do I get a quote?
Fill in the quote form with your date, location, rough numbers and the kind of food you have in mind. We'll reply with menu suggestions and a written quote.
How far ahead should we book?
As early as you can for summer Saturdays and December. For other dates a few weeks' notice is often enough — it's always worth asking.
Do you publish prices?
No, because every event is different. Numbers, menu, staffing, location and date all affect the price. Our hog roast cost guide explains the main factors.
How is a booking confirmed?
Once you accept the quote, we confirm the booking in writing. Deposit and payment terms are set out in our terms and conditions and your booking confirmation.
Food and menus
What's the difference between a hog roast and a BBQ?
A hog roast is a whole pig roasted for hours and carved to order; a BBQ is burgers, sausages, chicken and veggie options cooked on the grill. See our guide to hog roast vs BBQ.
Can we have both pork and lamb?
Yes — a hog roast and lamb roast side by side is popular at weddings and larger parties.
How many sides should we choose?
Two to four is typical. Our hog roast side dishes guide has ideas.
Do you do desserts?
For some events, yes. Mention it when you enquire and we'll suggest options.
Can you do Christmas food?
Yes — roast turkey, festive pork, pigs in blankets and all the trimmings. See the Christmas menu.
Dietary requirements
Do you cater for vegetarians and vegans?
Yes. Every menu includes vegetarian and vegan mains, cooked separately on request and clearly labelled.
Can you guarantee food is allergen-free?
No mobile caterer honestly can. We provide allergen information for every dish and take care to reduce cross-contamination, but our food is prepared where common allergens are handled. See our allergen and dietary information.
Can you provide a pork-free menu?
Yes — a lamb roast or BBQ menu can be entirely pork-free. Discuss any religious or cultural requirements with us when you enquire.
On the day
What space do you need?
A reasonably level area for our equipment and serving counter, a route we can wheel equipment along and nearby parking. Our outdoor catering checklist covers the details.
What happens if it rains?
We cook under cover and keep serving. Guests will need somewhere sheltered to eat — a marquee, barn or indoor space.
Do you clear up afterwards?
Yes. We clear our serving area and take our equipment and food waste away.
Can you cater indoors?
The roast is cooked outdoors, but we can often serve inside a marquee, barn or hall, depending on the venue's rules.
Do you provide paperwork for venues?
Yes — insurance details, risk assessments and food safety information are available on request.
Areas
Where do you cater?
Across London, Hampshire, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Kent and Essex. See all the areas we cover.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel and access can affect the price for more distant or difficult sites. Any costs are included clearly in your quote.
