Our hog roast service in the New Forest
The New Forest is a National Park of heathland, ancient woodland and open lawns, where ponies, cattle and donkeys belonging to local commoners graze freely and wander across the unfenced roads. Its villages — Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Burley, Beaulieu, Minstead, Sway and many more — are full of thatched cottages, large gardens and farms.
We cater hog roasts, lamb roasts and BBQs across the New Forest, at private homes, farms and venues that welcome outside caterers. Everything is cooked on site and carved to order, with sides and sauces served by our team.
We cater across the New Forest as part of our hog roast catering in Hampshire. For the full picture of how we work, see our hog roast catering page.
Where we cater in the New Forest
Weddings and big private parties are the main events here, in marquees on farmland, in large gardens and at estates that host outside caterers. Village fetes, school fairs and community fundraisers add to the diary, as do events around Totton and the Waterside towns on the eastern side of the forest.
The forest has its own rules. Fires and barbecues are not permitted on the open forest, and organised events on that land need permission from the land managers, so events we cater are on private land or at venues. Livestock roam the roads, and many lanes are narrow, so we allow extra time, drive slowly and plan access in advance.

BBQ catering in the New Forest
Not every event suits a whole pig. For the New Forest gatherings where people want choice — office lunches, club days, parties with lots of children — our BBQ catering is often the better fit: burgers, sausages and chicken cooked to order, with vegetarian and vegan options on their own grill space.
BBQ menus work well for village fetes and school fairs in the forest, served from a staffed grill on private land or venue grounds.

Wedding hog roasts
A New Forest wedding with a hog roast is hard to beat: a marquee on private land, the roast carved in front of guests and a table full of salads. We cater the wedding breakfast, evening food or both, and plan carefully around access on forest lanes.

Teams from Southampton and the Waterside often hold summer days out at forest venues. We handle the catering from start to finish, working within any venue rules.

Pork hog roast
Nothing is carved in advance and left to sit. The pig goes on hours before service, fills the air with the smell of roasting pork, and is carved fresh for every guest with crackling, stuffing and apple sauce.

Lamb works as the only roast or alongside pork. We carve it at the counter and serve it with mint sauce, herby salads and breads — a popular choice for summer weddings.
Spit-roast lambBBQ options
Grill favourites cooked to order: burgers, sausages, chicken thighs, halloumi skewers and vegan sausages, all served with rolls and a full sauce line-up.
BBQ packagesSides & salads
Most the New Forest events pick two to four sides. Summer menus lean towards coleslaw, leaf salads, tomatoes and potato salad; evening and winter events tend to want fries, sweet potato fries or new potatoes. We bring the breads, rolls and sauces too.

Vegetarian, vegan & dietary options
Every menu includes real vegetarian and vegan mains — halloumi, vegetable skewers, veggie burgers or plant-based sausages — cooked separately when requested and served from a labelled area. Tell us about allergies and other requirements when you enquire and we'll plan around them; our food is prepared where common allergens are handled, so we can't guarantee any dish is allergen-free.

Hog roast FAQs for the New Forest
Can you cater on open forest land?
No — fires and barbecues are not allowed on the open forest, and organised events there need permission from the land managers. We cater on private land, in gardens, at farms and at venues that allow outside caterers.
Do the animals on the roads affect your arrival?
We allow extra travel time in the forest because ponies, cattle and donkeys graze on the unfenced roads and speed limits are low. It doesn't affect the service; we just plan for it.
Which New Forest villages do you cover?
All of them — including Lyndhurst, Brockenhurst, Burley, Beaulieu, Minstead, Sway, Fordingbridge, Ashurst, Totton and the Waterside villages.
Can guests with dietary requirements be catered for?
Yes. Vegetarian and vegan mains are cooked separately on request and labelled, and allergen information is available for every dish. See our allergen and dietary information.
